Abstract: Traffic noise surface wave exploration held substantial promise for urban shallow surface investigations. Nonetheless, current dispersion information was hampered by poor quality. To address these challenges in urban shallow surface exploration, a data quality control method tailored for traffic noise was proposed in this study. This method involved enhancing signal-to-noise ratios through data screening and phase-weighted superposition, effectively elevating the quality of traffic noise surface waves. Improved signal-to-noise ratios and resolution enhanced the precision of dispersion imaging, as demonstrated by the successful application of this method in data collected from the Guangzhou Huanggang Power Tunnel. This paper presented a robust data quality control approach for traffic noise surface wave exploration, facilitating broader utilization of traffic noise in surface wave investigations.
